Park(ing) Day = kilka samochodów mniej! Pod takim hasłem 16 września w kilku lokalizacjach na terenie Olsztyna fragmenty parkingów zamieniły się w kawiarnie, miejsca spotkań i place zabaw. W gronie profesorów, artystów i sportowców nie zabrakło oczywiście lokalnych rowerzystów, którzy oprócz wyjątkowo miłej kawiarenki/ciastkarni w samym centrum miasta zorganizowali plenerowy punkt smarowania i naprawy.
Park(ing) Day jest ogólnoświatową inicjatywą obywatelską, która zwraca uwagę na zawłaszczanie przestrzeni publicznej przez nadmierne potrzeby użytkownków samochodów. Pomysłem na zaakcentowanie faktu, iż zaparkowane auta nie muszą być dominujacym elementem współczesnego miasta jest zmiana przeznaczenia wybranych miejsc parkingowych i zorganizowanie tam przestrzeni przyjaznej, otwartej i bezpiecznej.
Stowarzyszenie Aktywności Społecznej "Młyn" wraz ze Stowarzyszeniem Multiform i Fundacją Mam Marzenie zadbało o przeprowadzenie tej akcji na ul. 11 Listopada w Olsztynie. Wymiernej pomocy w postaci zapewnienia prawdziwej murawy pod stopami oraz specjalnie przygotowanych koszulek na grzbietach Organizatorów udzielił Urząd Miasta oraz Zakład Komunikacji Miejskiej. O całą resztę, czyli życzliwe przyjęcie i miłe dla ucha reakcje zadbali przechodnie, którzy goniąc w swoich sprawach często znajdowali chwilę na rozmowę, skosztowanie ciasta lub po prostu zatrzymanie się i uśmiech:)
Uliczna kawiarnia oferowała przechodniom bezpłatną kawę lub herbatę oraz degustację wegańskich i wegetariańskich ciast. Rowerzyści mogli liczyć na nasmarowanie łańcucha porządnym olejem, a miłośnicy cyrkowych sztuczek mogli popróbować swoich sił w puszczaniu ogromnych baniek mydlanych.
W piątkowy gwar jednej z głównych ulic Olsztyna efektownie wpisał się DJ Clicktime ze Stowarzyszenia Multiform, który nawet pośród padającego deszczu nie zakończył grania:)

Fundacja Mam Marzenie aktualnie prowadzi zbiórkę plastikowych nakrętek, aby fundusze z ich sprzedaży jako surowca wtórnego przeznaczyć na spełnainie dziecięcych marzeń. Stoisko Park(ing) Day posłużyło im do propagowania tej pożytecznej akcji recyclingowej.
